  • ACL Mechanism

    The photo below is of the original ACL, however the basic mechanism remained unchanged throughout the life of the camera right through to the ACL II. Note that the photo is of the very first ACL, which used a Hardened Steel Connecting Rod between the base of the Mirror Shaft and the Drive Shaft Cam, held in place by metal caps that were screwed in to the rod. Eclair eventually replaced this with a plastic Connecting Rod.

    Below is the converted HD-144 GOLD mechanism, before the shutter and aperture plate have been painted flat black. The ACL is an astoundingly simple mechanical design, and contains very few parts.
