Just another day for two ACL camera operators

A typical day for an ACL operator

If you have questions about Eclair cameras or filmmaking in general, the best place to go for help is either the cinematography.com forums or one of the email lists where your question will be seen by hundreds of expert filmmakers and technician.  Links to these sites can be found on the Resources & Links page.  All of the volunteer authors who work on this site hang out regularly in the Eclair forum at cinematography.com.

The main goal of the site is to organize and archive information about the cameras.  The material on the site has been collected over many years from a variety of defunct websites, discussion boards, advice from techs, etc.  So the wisdom on these pages is not from any one person.  We are always interested in adding more information, so if you have something to share, please feel free to leave a reply there on any relevant page.  The site is moderated to prevent spamming, but all legit comments will be approved within a day or two.

If you have a correction or question about this site or you would like to contribute, please post a reply at the bottom of this contact page.  The replies on this page are moderated and will not be published, however the site admin will see it.  Be sure to include your email if you would like a response.

Thank you for visiting and keep shooting on film!

    • Hi, Thanks for putting this wonderful site up!! Im looking to purchase a Eclair ACL 2 Super 16mm and have found this site very useful with information that id never have found!! I have a small suggestion if you dont mind, its to do with the Equipment forsale section, I understand it picks up everything with Eclair “acl” “npr” mentioned in it, and it looks like its picking it up worldwide -ish…?? however it dont seem to pick up Eclair items listed in France, which I think would be useful..if you get time can this be added? Thanks again. Raj from London.

    • sorry dumb questions but does the aperture plate guard simply pull out? does it require some force to remove? thanks joe

      • Hi Joe, I’m not sure about that – I’d recommend the cinematography.com Eclair forum – somebody there surely knows.

    • Thanks, I like the how long its been listed field!! Regards, Raj

Hi. I would like to know if someone here knows the addresses of the cinema stores in Paris which are selling equipement for Eclair cameras. Thank you

      Giorgio

    • I am looking for an ACL power cord (little ACL connector to
      standard male 4 pin XLR).

    • Hello Joe,

I saw your flicker remover. I have something that might be a bit different but maybe you can figure out an approach to it. It’s a banding which rolls horizontally up the picture by the looks of it. A problem due to a shutter being set to the wrong speed and angle using led light banks that are sensitive to these issues. I can send you a sample of the footage if you that’s ok with you. Lemme know thank! Sure could use a hand with this.

You can download them by clicking on the grey-color FREE-DOWNLOAD button. If a payment instructions window pop-ups, just close it.

By the way, in any case, you can visit: http://www.erkanumut.com/?s=acl

    • Hola,

      Cordiales saludos

      Cristina Ramos
